Based in Germany, Michael Heise worked for the German Council of Economic Experts, where he became Secretary General in 1998. In 2005 Michael left the public sector to become Chief Economist for DG Bank, and then in later years for DZ Bank and Dresdner Bank and Allianz. Michael teaches economics at Frankfurt University and has written books on the eurozone economy and monetary policy.
Due to his experience in analyzing economic and financial developments he is a sought after commentator in German and international media. Michael was more than once awarded the title of forecaster of the year by German media. Since his departure from Allianz in October 2019, Michael works as Chief Economist for the multi-family office HQ Trust and as an economic consultant for other companies.
Michael Heise received his economic training and his doctorate at the University of Cologne in Germany.
