Director - Ben is an experienced macroeconomist with particular expertise in environmental and resource economics, spanning both the public and private sectors. Ben plays a leadership role in the firm’s thematic research on a range of issues including energy, climate change, and demographics, and their consequences for markets. Before joining Llewellyn Consulting in 2012, Ben led a strategic review of the Civil Aviation Authority’s environmental role. Prior to that Ben spent four years as an Economic Advisor in the UK Government Economic Service, first working on energy and the environment at Defra, and then on climate change at the Committee on Climate Change. In his early career, he worked at Oxford Economics, GFC Economics, and Deloitte.
Ben is a Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics based in the Grantham Research Institute. He holds an MA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Edinburgh, and an MSc in Environmental and Resource Economics from University College London.
